The mini-budget – ‘not a Budget’
Last week the newly appointed chancellor, Kwasi Kwarteng, delivered his mini-budget (but it wasn’t the actual Budget - according to the Tories) and if you didn’t know him before, you certainly will now.
While the mini-budget provided some relief for basic and additional rate tax earners, global confidence in the UK being able to deliver a sustainable path to growth while controlling rising inflation for investors seems to have all but evaporated.
